To promote ecological civilization and green and low-carbon development, Poly Group accelerates the development of new productive forces and continues to add "green" to the motherland.

Reduce energy consumption through "careful budgeting"

Focus on developing green and low-carbon projects

With water, sunlight, and air, Poly achieves energy self-sufficiency and saves over 4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity through the construction of a beam yard on the highway. Poly is committed to conducting green projects.

Last year, Poly Developments started a new construction area of 12 million square meters, which all met the design standards of green buildings. Poly Developments (Beijing) has achieved carbon neutrality for its self-owned assets and signed a strategic cooperation agreement on carbon neutrality with China Beijing Green Exchange, setting an example for Poly's commitment to ESG principles. Poly Property Group has over 17 million square meters of certified green buildings, helping to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality.

Poly Changda Engineering, under Poly International, has built the first green and smart beam yard in China. In the yard, with water as an energy storage medium, the “photovoltaic integrated” smart health system primarily uses solar energy for heating and air energy for supplementary roles, saving more than 4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. In addition, YOFC, a member company of China Huaxin Post and Telecom Technologies, has created a comprehensive, full-process, and full-chain green infrastructure aggregation platform.

Continue to explore through technological innovation

Develop a new low-carbon business for Poly

New terms, such as 100% green electricity, liquid-cooled 5G base stations, and green surfactants, are also the new business cards that Poly is striving to create.

YOFC, under China Huaxin Post and Telecom Technologies, innovatively creates intelligent fiber optic systems, widely used in projects such as the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Hangzhou Asian Games, and Yunnan's Most Beautiful High-Speed Tunnels. At Xiamenbei Station alone, this intelligent system can save 720,000 kWh of electricity annually. Nokia Shanghai Bell actively explores revolutionary innovations to reduce the energy consumption of 5G networks, jointly achieving the industry's first outdoor trial commercialization of a cold-plate liquid-cooled base station, saving 30% to 50% of electricity compared to air-cooled base stations and reducing about 80% of carbon dioxide emissions.

In addition, China Research Institute of Daily Chemical Industry, under Sinolight, has been deeply involved in the research and development of green functional surfactants over the years. The Institute has not only made innovative breakthroughs in multiple key technologies, but also completed the process development and industrial demonstration of related products, creating a large-scale industry project and initially establishing a large industrial pattern based on the commercialization of scientific research achievements.

Actively engage in ecological projects

Benefit the local area with the power of green

Poly actively participates in ecological projects, opening up new prospects for green development by improving the ecological environment and restoring ecosystems.

Poly Eco (a subsidiary of Poly Union Group) and Poly Union (Tibet) jointly undertake the greening project of the north and south mountains in Lhasa. Through the cooperation between schools and enterprises, a growth agent for high-altitude plants has been developed. Nearly 170,000 plants have been planted on barren mountains, and an area of over 1,000 acres has been restored, bringing in over 3 million yuan in additional income for the region.

From Tangshan, Hebei Province, to Rongcheng, Shandong Province, and then to Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province, Poly Eco has restored an area of 2.3396 million square meters and realized a greening area of 1.88 million square meters in mountainous areas. This helped to achieve marketization, specialization, and industrialization of mountain treatment.

Look ahead at industry potential

Take the lead in developing green standards

In order to achieve higher quality development, we must constantly explore cutting-edge new ideas, models, and paths. In this regard, Poly is leading the way.

In January 2023, the first national monograph on carbon management system – Establishment and Implementation of EATNS Carbon Management System – was officially published. This monograph, co-authored by Haisum, a subsidiary of Sinolight, clearly defines the world's first comprehensive carbon management system standard, which helps enterprises with emission requirements achieve precise management and realize industrial transformation and upgrading.

In addition, China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute, a subsidiary of Sinolight, has been actively developing a green manufacturing system and providing industry consulting services in recent years. It has offered training for five major occupations, including carbon emission monitors and carbon emission accountants, and undertook seven national-level green/dual carbon service projects in 2023.

Green mountains and rivers, low-energy consumption buildings, green factories... Poly continues to create a "green China," and cultivate green momentum for high-quality development in the future.
