The seismic charge workshop of Poly Explosive (Jinan), located in Zhangqiu of Shandong province, had a blast at 10:50 on the morning of May 20, 2013, resulting in the building collapse. After the blast, government of different levels of Shandong, Jinan and Zhangqiu immediately organized the rescue. Chairman Chen Hongsheng and vice president Chen Xiaozhong arrived at the spot right after the blast. The working team for the blast was set up in Poly Group in charge of commanding the rescue on the spot and follow-up work. After repeatedly onsite clean-up and overall check, as well as DNA identification, all the missing staff in the blast were all confirmed to die, which made the casualty up to 33 dead and 19 injured. No new missing ones were found.
