The seismic charge workshop of Poly Explosive Jinan Technologies, Inc., located in Zhangqiu of Shandong province, exploded at 10:50 on the morning of May 20, 2013, resulting in the building collapse. After the explosion, government of different levels of Shandong, Jinan and Zhangqiu immediately organized the rescue. Chairman Chen Hongsheng and vice president Chen Xiaozhong arrived at the spot right after the explosion. The working team for the explosion was set up in Poly Group in charge of commanding the rescue on the spot and follow-up work. Up till now, the confirmed casualty list was 13 dead, 19 injured and 20 unaccounted for. Poly Group would, in accordance with the instruction of different levels of local governments, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and State Administration of Work Safety, make its utmost to engage in the staff check, the aftermath of the accident, the disposal of dangerous goods, security and safeguard as well as any support to investigation.
